Letter to Chairman Pombo and Ranking Member Rahall

Dear Chairman Pombo and Ranking Member Rahall:
We write to offer our strong support for legislation that will dedicate a portion of revenues generated from oil and gas production on the outer continental shelf to coastal producing states. Your leadership on this issue is to be commended and we applaud yourdedication to securing our nation’s domestic energy supply.
As you well know, our states have proudly hosted the offshore oil and gas industry for decades. It has brought prosperity to our states and security to the entirenation. Much like the revenues from onshore production on federal lands that are sharedwith states, a share in these existing OCS revenues will further ensure that theinfrastructure and environmental integrity of our coasts can support this valuable industryfor years to come.
Again, thank you for your vision and leadership on this critical issue. Pleaseaccept our wholehearted support for this legislation and call upon us at any time for assistance in this matter.
